A huge fire has ripped through a block of flats in Fife with dozens of firefighters battling the inferno on Monday night. Footage from the scene shows flames pouring out from the roof of the building on Francis Street in Lochgelly.The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) told the Record they had been alerted to the blaze at around 7.05pm this evening.
A spokesperson for the SFRS described the fire as "well-established".There are currently nine appliances trying to put out the flames at the block of flats.
It is not known if anyone has been injured in the incident.A SFRS spokesperson said: "We are in attendance at Francis Street, Lochgelly, at a well established fire."We have seven pumping appliances and two height appliance at the scene.
We got a call about the fire at 19.05.
