Premier League sides voted against a temporary ban on player loans between clubs with the same owners on Tuesday. The Premier League was understood to be in favour of introducing the ban, which would have stopped loans between related parties, but eight clubs voted to reject the proposal and 12 voted in favour of it.
Manchester City, Newcastle, Chelsea, Sheffield United, Everton, Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Burnley all voted against the ban, as per reports.
The vote means Newcastle can sign players from clubs also owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), for example.
