Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or transferring from Disability Living Allowance (DLA) to the benefit can be a lengthy process for claimants.
However, that should not put anyone off making a claim because people who are awarded PIP will receive between £23.60 and £151.40 per week - if you are aged 16 or over and have not yet reached State Pension age, which is now 66 for everyone in the UK.
The benefit is paid into a bank or building society account every four weeks in arrears, which means you could receive between £94.40 and £605.60 every month in additional financial support.
