After fronting a number of This Morning episodes in the months after both Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby departed the show, many viewers had expected Alison Hammond to take the reins full-time.
Subsequently, they were left rather surprised upon the announcement that Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley would be the show's new permanent presenters.
However, it's now been revealed that Alison, 49, was offered the full-time role but opted to decline fronting the show's relaunch, which could prove make-or-break for popular daytime show, which has been on air since 1988.
Revealing why Alison turned down this role, a source has exclusively told OK!: "Alison was given the This Morning job to do it full time, she was actually the one who didn't want it.
