Horse riders take to the roads around Newmains in annual event to raise safety awareness

Dozens of equestrian riders from across North Lanarkshire took their horses out for a trot on the roads around Newmains for a safety awareness rideout last Sunday.It’s the fourth year in a row that the annual Pass Wide and Slow event has been held in Morningside and Newmains.The ride, organised by friends and horse lovers Julie Cameron and Kat Stark, tied in with hundreds of other similar events taking place simultaneously across the UK, with the aim of raising safety awareness for vehicle drivers around riders.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
