When it comes to Mother's Day you can't go wrong with some chocolate, not in my house anyway. But budget retailer Home Bargains has come under fire over a sweet treat for mums this year.
One customer shared a photo of a gift on sale in the stores - a piece of card with a message to mum where some of the words in the message are replaced with chocolate bars.
It says: "To The Best Mum Ever, Today I want to Wispa how much I love you. If I could fly around the Milky Way or even land on Mars I know I'd never find anyone as amazing as you in the entire Galaxy." Others criticised the retailer for stepping on the toes of small business owners, who make this sort of thing to sell locally for Mother's Day and also Father's Day. "Not really a bargain when you can buy all that chocolate for about two quid," said one. "Where's the bargain," said another. "Great idea for people to do at home.
