Holly Willoughby was quickly supported by her loyal followers as she made her official Instagram return for the first time since she was embroiled in Phillip Schofield's scandal.

On Monday (June 5), Holly, 42, returned to This Morning for the first time in a fortnight. It is the first time viewers have seen her on-screen since her long-time co-host and friend Phillip quit the programme before later stepping back from ITV altogether after admitting to lying to Holly and his employers about a relationship with a much younger ITV colleague.

She has also remained quiet on social media after making the decision to extend her planned half-term break by a week following her former co-star and friend's decision to 'step back' from This Morning before his admitted to an 'unwise but not illegal' affair. She has only posted two short statements to her Instagram Story in that time, with one saying that she felt 'hurt' that she had been lied to but during her return to screens, the mum-of-three addressed the scandal head on in a statement read out live on air.
