Holly Willoughby was left in hysterics as Gyles Brandreth joked about his “exciting” on air technical issue on This Morning.

The 74-year-old was discussing Boris Johnson’s resignation with co-hosts Holly, 41, and Phillip Schofield, 61, as his microphone began to crackle against his jumper.

Live on air, Holly pointed out: “We’re having an issue with your microphone, I might have to sit very close to you so you can use mine.” The mother of three shuffled her chair next to Gyles as the morning show had a special festival in the forest on Thursday.

He muttered: “Oh good, please don’t cancel me for getting too close, you’ve sat next to me.” Get exclusive celebrity stories and reality tv news straight to your inbox withOK!
