HMRC has issued a statement to anyone affected by the Barclays outage which has seen some customers locked out of their accounts and unable to make payments.
The outage began on Friday, which was payday for many and also the deadline for submitting a self-assessment tax return to HMRC.
The IT glitch is understood to be affecting hundreds of account holders, with many saying they are unable to access their money and cannot make or receive payments.
However, HMRC has assured customers that those unable to pay their tax bill due to the outage will not receive a fine for missing the midnight deadline.
