Amanda Louise Holden (born 16 February 1971) is an English media personality, actress, television presenter, singer, and author. She has judged on the television talent show competition Britain's Got Talent since the show began its run in 2007 on ITV. As an actress, Holden played the role of Mel in Kiss Me Kate (1998–2000), Geraldine Titley in The Grimleys (1999-2001), Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008), Lizzie, the Ring Mistress, in Big Top (2009), and the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award.

Hit BBC show lands surprise second series after huge success on screen

SHE is one of the most glamorous women in showbiz and famous for her eye-popping outfits on Britain’s Got Talent. But Amanda Holden proved she is far more than just a clothes horse as she grappled with rats and rubble to fix up a Sicilian townhouse for her BBC show with Alan Carr, Amanda & Alan’s Italian Job.

And the pair will soon be dusting off their overalls once again, as I can reveal the A-list best friends have been handed a second series.

It will follow Alan and Amanda as they seek out another derelict property to revamp and sell on for charity. A source said: “It’s so hard for new TV shows to make an impact, but the ratings have been incredible and Amanda and Alan’s chemistry is ­undeniable. “To think the pair of them had the idea themselves during lockdown and are now planning series two is a dream come true for them both.
