Since the news of her death on September 8, at the age of 96, there have been questions over what happens after Queen Elizabeth dies and who will take over the throne after she passes away.
Her passing was confirmed by Buckingham Palace with a statement that read: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.” Queen Elizabeth II is the first child of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
She became Queen of the United Kingdom as well as the other Commonwealth countries in February 1952 after the death of her father.
