Heinz fans have encountered a chilly setback as the company confirmed it has halted the production of a popular product line.
The much-loved WeightWatchers frozen meal range is no more, much to the dismay of shoppers. One person who had spotted the absence of these ready meals, took to X to quiz Heinz directly. "Hi guys, can you advise whether frozen Weight Watchersmeals are discontinued, particularly sweet and Sour Chicken and Chicken and Broccoli melt," Michele Williams wrote.
The reply from Heinz came swiftly on Monday (January 27), confirming the end of an era: "The WW from Heinz range of meals has been discontinued." A spokesperson for Heinz UK later explained the move to us, commenting: "We've taken the strategic decision to streamline our UK portfolio which includes discontinuing our frozen line with Weight Watchers.
We know our fans will be disappointed to see it go, but this change will enable us to focus on the product lines that deliver the most value for our customers and pave the way for new innovation that meets changing consumer tastes, lifestyle needs and preferences." This decision come four months after Heinz ended another collaboration with the weight loss brand – with reduced-fat tins of baked beans no longer on supermarket shelves.
