heatwave. The intense heat as the Met Office confirmed Friday was the hottest August day since 2003, with temperatures topping 36.4C.
While forecasters predicted highs of 39C, today’s heat will hover around 32C which will continue well into next week.But the fierce heat has sparked concern that dozens of pets could die from overheating in the unbearably warm weather.An RSPCA spokesman told The Sun: “As temperatures soar this week we’re urging people to take extra care of their pets.“Animals can struggle in the heat and some of our pets can suffer heatstroke or heat exhaustion which can be fatal.” The animal charity spokesman continued and said owners should pay extra care to their pets in the coming days.
