Chris Brown was killed by Moat as he targeted police officers on a murderous rampage after his release from prison. Chris, 29, was dating Moat’s ex Sam Stobbart, then aged 22.
Sam had ended her relationship with the thug while he was in Durham prison for assault, and falsely told him that Chris was a policeman in a bid to make him leave her alone.
Instead, on his release, he lay in wait outside her home in Birtley, Gateshead, and attacked Chris from behind. He fired twice into his back, then into his head from point-blank range, before shooting and blinding traffic policeman PC David Rathband.
