He tried to rape her in a city centre hotel then tried to rake over her sexual history in court

A judge was right not to allow a defence barrister to rake over the sexual history of a woman who was sexually assaulted in a Manchester hotel, the Appeal Court has ruled.

Logan Galbraith was found guilty of assault by penetration, sexual assault and attempted rape following a trial at Manchester Crown Court in May 2023.

The then 52-year-old was jailed for seven years and five months. A jury heard Galbraith attacked the victim, then in her 20s, following a night out in July 2019.

The bar manager picked her up in a taxi from a train station in the early hours and took her back to his hotel room.
