Shane Stevens, 18, admitted two counts of section 18 assault in relation to the incident at Akbar's on Liverpool Road off Deansgate last summer.

Manchester Magistrate's Youth Court was told the two members of staff were attacked 'with a bladed article'. Video footage shared with the M.E.N of the incident at the time showed the shocking aftermath.

An eyewitness, who asked not to be named, said at the time he was in the restaurant and saw an altercation between staff and customers.
