HBO is searching for the next generation of the Harry Potter trio. The network has opened a casting call for the roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley for its upcoming TV series, fans noted when a casting call circulated on social media, which Variety has since verified with HBO.
The casting call is looking for children who will be between the ages of 9-11 in April 2025 and who are residents of the U.K.
and Ireland. The casting call notes that they will be inclusive to all races, ethnicities and gender identities. Keep reading to find out more… “We are committed to inclusive, diverse casting,” it reads. “For every role, please submit qualified performers, without regard to ethnicity, sex, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other basis protected by law unless otherwise specifically indicated.” The application requires two short self tapes, including a short poem or story unrelated to the Harry Potter series. “Please prepare a short poem or story of your choosing.
It can be from your favourite book, a poem that you love, a monologue from a play or something you’ve created yourself. Please, nothing from Harry Potter.
