Harry Maguire names what Manchester United must improve after defeat against Newcastle

Harry Maguire said Manchester United must start winning more duels and play at a higher tempo following the 1-0 defeat against Newcastle.

United struggled to match Newcastle's intensity when they were defeated at St. James' Park last season and Eddie Howe's side caused the same problems from the first whistle in Saturday night's meeting.

The North East side created plenty of chances and they were unfortunate not to be leading at half-time, but their pressure eventually paid off shortly after the interval when Anthony Gordon found the net. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were replaced by Antony and Rasmus Hojlund respectively on the hour mark, but only in the closing stages did United look like equalising and it was too late to secure a draw.
