Harold Shipman was Britain's worst ever serial killer after he murdered at least 250 of his own patients. The killer GP became the only doctor to ever be convicted of murdering his own patients in the UK when he was found guilty of 15 murders.
In the years following Shipman's imprisonment, an inquiry into the chilling murders revealed he had killed more and that his crimes had gone undetected for more than 20 years.
Most of his victims were elderly women, with 80 per cent of them female pensioners. But his youngest victim could have been just four and Shipman's confirmed youngest victim was a 41-year-old man.
