Halifax alert as payments blocked to Tesco, British Gas and Next - bank responds

The customer reached out to the bank on July 23, stating: "I have been trying to make payments online to a few different retailers and these are being blocked by Halifax, can you tell me if there are any issues?
Tesco, British Gas and Next are the ones I've had blocked." In response, the bank directed them to potential assistance but did not provide a direct solution.
A representative said: "We are not able to access account details on here. If can message on the app - tap 'Support' at bottom of app screen then tap 'Message us 24/7' Desktop Internet Banking - select 'Help & Support' tab in top right corner then 'Message us 24/7'." In a similar incident, another individual contacted Halifax regarding their father's difficulties with online purchases.
