A family's seven-bed home has been destroyed by floodwater just days after repairs have been completed from floods a year ago.
Jacob Davidge, 28, from Loughborough, Leicestershire, discovered that his home was flooded when he woke up on January 7 after a night of heavy rain A major incident was declared in Leicester on Monday (January 6) due to the flooding, and more than 50 people had to be rescued.
Davidge, a civil engineering contractor, says this week's flood is the second in around 12 months, after heavy rain caused his home to flood in January 2024.
The flood in 2024 ruined the entire downstairs floor of his £500,000 home, including the kitchen which had only just been renovated.
