John Hartson has lauded Brendan Rodgers for forcing security guards away from a young Hoops fan who ran onto the pitch after a 3-0 win for Celtic over Livingston.
And the Welshman reckons the gesture will only go towards rebuilding the strained relationship with the Green Brigade. The excited supporter made his way onto the Tony Macaroni pitch after the comfortable Scottish Premiership victory over David Martindale's side before being swamped by security guards.But Rodgers was on hand to lend a helping hand as the Celtic boss ushered the security away and walked the pitch invader back to the crowd.
The gesture received a warm response from the visiting support including fan group the Green Brigade - who have previously took a strong stance against the boss after he returned Celtic Park earlier this summer.
Following the move, Hartson could detect the angry response of the ultras beginning to cool.He told the Go Radio Football Show: "That was very good from Brendan.
