It is likely to be a damp start to the Bank holiday weekend - but some sunshine is expected between the rain and cloud. Overnight rain and morning drizzle has made it a wet beginning to Saturday.
And Met Office forecasters say there is the likelihood of it remaining wet and miserable for much of Saturday. But Sunday is likely to be largely dry with sunny spells and it is likely to be much warmer.

This should clear by lunchtime but could linger longer in some northern areas of the region such as Bolton, Wigan and Rochdale.
