And Met Office forecasters say there is the likelihood of it remaining wet and miserable for much of Saturday. But Sunday is likely to be largely dry with sunny spells and it is likely to be much warmer.
And there could be further sunny spells on Monday, yet there is the chance of more showers. This should clear by lunchtime but could linger longer in some northern areas of the region such as Bolton, Wigan and Rochdale.
