The winner of the Great British Bake Off 2024 has been announced after a nail-biting finale.The fifteenth series of the show concluded on Tuesday night, with Christiaan de Vries, Dylan Bachelet and Georgie Grasso all competing for the win.The finalists attempted to make scones, lemon cakes and a superior three-tier celebration cake for their showstopper.

In the end, it was Georgie who took the crown.The Paediatric nurse was visibly in shock as she was announced the winner after a dramatic 10 weeks of being judged by Dame Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.The 34-year-old, who has become the first contestant from Wales to win the show said: "This is mad!

I have won it, I can't believe it.This is just incredible. I can't believe that I have won The Great British Bake Off." Prue and Paul were full of praise for the winner, as Dame Prue said: "Georgie did what she does best - classic British baking beautifully done - and won it, and quite right, too," whilst Paul added: "The Welsh wonder, Georgie, smashed it out of the park." Speaking on being the first Welsh winner of the show, Georgie added: "Oh my gosh being the first Welsh baker in the final was a massive achievement in itself.

So to have won it is just the best feeling in the world. "There were times in the series I thought I might be going home.The fact that I did it for Wales was amazing, and I had massive support throughout from Wales.
