Ally McCoist reckons Graeme Souness would have "carpeted" the Rangers players if they acted in a similar fashion to Manchester United star Marcus Rashford.The England international had an afternoon to forget as United slipped to a 3-0 loss to Manchester City but following the game was spotted celebrating his 26th birthday at a nightclub.
The response from Rashford to the embarrassment has sparked controversy with his actions following derby defeat – and McCoist admits that behaviour would not have been tolerated in the Ibrox dressing room.
Souness was namedropped on talkSPORT by Andy Townsend and how he would have responded to celebrations in the wake of a defeat to Celtic.
McCoist stated that Ibrox icon Souness – who is in talks to return to the Scottish Premiership side over an advisory role – would not have stood for those actions if Rangers had been defeated by Celtic.
