As the Gossip Girl reboot inches closer, a lot of new revelations have been made about the 2007 show. Now, the creators of the iconic teen hit are opening up on who was supposed to be the real GG.

While it is known that Penn Badgley‘s character Dan Humphrey was revealed to be the person operating as Gossip Girl in the original series, but now creators have revealed that Dan was never supposed to be the anonymous blogger.

In a chat with The Daily Beast, Joshua Safran, the showrunner and creator of the HBO Max series, opened about the original plan behind the 2007 show.
