Richard Madeley shocked his co-star when he told her that 'we don't need you anymore' live on air. The presenter was back at the helm of Good Morning Britain on Wednesday (May 25) alongside Susanna Reid.

They were also joined in the studio by Charlotte Hawkins who was on hand to bring viewers all the day's news and latest headlines while Laura Tobin back to present her weather segments.

But Richard soon left Laura stunned when he remarked to her that her services were not need anymore. After delivering her report, the 66-year-old spoke of the stunning sunrise he had saw this morning on the way to work. "I have to say there was an amazing sunrise driving in this morning, it was a really really bright bright bright red," he commented. Laura then replied: "Red sky in the morning, shepherds warning - it's actually true because the sun is rising in the south east and it basically is reflecting off the clouds that are coming in.

So if clouds are coming in, it would rain later." Without any hesitation, Richard went on to remark: "Oh great, so we don't need you." Laura was visibly shocked by her co-star's cutting remark before jokingly starting to walk off the set. "Ok then see you later," she told him.
