The four major broadcast networks are shuffling their Thursday night schedules to accomodate President Joe Biden’s televised address to outline U.S.’ response to Hamas’ terrorist attacks against Israel and Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.
ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox will all carry the address live at 8 PM ET/CT. As a result, their regular Oct. 19 lineups will be delayed by 15-22 min in the Eastern and Central time zones, depending on the network. (Some news divisions will provide commentary/analysis immediately following the speech.) The affected programs include ABC’s The Golden Bachelor and Bachelor In Paradise, CBS’ Big Brother and the season finale of The Challenge: USA, NBC’s Transplant and Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen and LEGO Masters.
The start of NBC’s late-night block of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!
also will start late. (CBS’ Late Show is dark for the rest of the week as host Stephen Colbert is recovering from Covid.) The primetime and late-night schedules will remain intact in the Mountain and Pacific time zones.
