GMB star details 'difficult' birth of premature daughter at 27 weeks

Good Morning Britain's Laura Tobin has spoken of the "difficult period" she experienced after her daughter was born prematurely six years ago.The ITV star, 41, gave birth to daughter Charlotte in 2017, 27 weeks into her pregnancy and the newborn weighed just 2lb 8oz at birth.The weather forecaster has now recalled the difficult time she had in labour giving birth to her daughter, who started school in 2021, in a candid Instagram post.

It comes as Laura returned to the neonatal unit for the first time since she gave birth to Charlotte, as she showed her support for a new campaign to donate tiny baby nappies to NICU units to help babies who are born prematurely.

Laura penned an emotional post with her 169,000 followers on Instagram as she shared a selection of snaps from her visit to Croydon University Hospital NICU unit.

She wrote: "What an incredibly heartwarming day. I spent the morning at the Croydon University Hospital NICU unit with @icklepicklescharity an amazing premature baby charity who have announced a partnership with @mamabamboouk who are an Award-winning eco-disposable nappy and wipe brand who are supporting families affected by premature birth in so many ways. "Together they want to make the stressful time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) a little easier and are donating their brand-new size 0 tiny baby nappies for babies 3-5lb to five neonatal units across London, including Croydon where we visited. " She continued: "It might seem small but having nappies when your babies first arrives-often when you least expect it and aren’t prepared means it’s one thing you don’t have to worry about.
