The Good Morning Britain studio was filled with emotion as a guest broke down in tears live on-air, with Susanna Reid stepping in to console her.Doreen Soulsby appeared on the show on Wednesday (September 18) to discuss the potential release of her daughter Joanne Tulip's murderer.

Steven Ling stabbed Joanne 60 times during sex and admitted to raping her although he was never charged for the sexual crime.Ling received a life sentence in December 1998, but has now been approved for release by a parole board.

However, due to the rape charge not being pursued, Ling was never placed on a sex offender register, meaning police protections for those around him will not be provided, the Mirror reports.Clearly finding it difficult to get through the challenging segment, Doreen reached for a tissue box, as Susanna encouraged: "Tell us about your daughter, tell us about Joanne."Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join Community'.We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
