Good Morning Britain presenter Sean Fletcher has said he is “heartbroken” as he announced the death of his family dog.The presenter, 49, took to Instagram to share the sad news that their dog Meg had died after being hit by a car after escaping from their house.

Sean, who shares two children with his wife Luned Tonderai, shared how losing Meg has been one of the most challenging things he’s gone through as he thanked his colleagues at ITV for their support after he had to go on air after finding out the heartbreaking news.The star began his message: “I am heartbroken.

My lovely dog #Meg got out of our house, we think chasing a fox. She was hit by a car and died. We are all totally devastated. “She had been moved from the side of the road and placed by a tree with a small blanket covering her.Thanks to the person who did that.

I don’t know who you are but you need to know that what you did made it easier for my wife and children when they found her.” He then went on to share some happy memories of Meg and the family, as he wrote: “I spent so much time with Meg as I work from home a lot.
