GMB regular replaced by pop star in shake-up as presenter is 'missing'

Good Morning Britain saw something of a shake-up during Monday's (October 16) episode with singer Duncan James stepping in for Entertainment Editor Richard Arnold.

Richard, 53, usually hosts a segment focusing on news in the showbiz world, but he was absent from today's show, with Duncan, 45, presenting the showbiz segment instead.The singer-turned-presenter spoke to hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley about the recent Strictly Come Dancing news and gossip, and Madonna's new tour which kicked off at London's O2 Arena.

Duncan previously stepped in for Richard back for a week in August, when the regular presenter was away on holiday. Ahead of his time on GMB, Duncan had said that he was "super excited" but "nervous" to be joining the team at the ITV daytime show. "I’m super excited to be joining the Good Morning Britain family," he said, at the time. "I love the show and I’ve been on loads of times, not only with Blue but also when I was doing Chicago with Alexandra Burke, but this time it’ll be different with me presenting. "Being on the other side of the desk, it’ll definitely be different and a little bit nerve-racking but that’s what we do as entertainers, we’re always trying new things and doing new challenges, which keeps the adrenaline and excitement going." Duncan's return to GMB comes as ITV bosses are said to be considering a shake-up at their daytime TV shows with Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard potentially switching GMB for This Morning.

Ben recently hosted an episode of This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby back in September and has since confirmed that he will be appearing on the show a few more times in the run-up to Christmas.
