Dr Hilary Jones has tried to reassure parents that it is safe for children to return to school despite the rising coronavirus R-rate in some areas of the UK.
The Good Morning Britain doctor stated that the fatality rate among children between five and 14 was actually lower than that of seasonal flu, so there shouldn't be any fears around sending kids back to school.
He said that there needs to be a shift in thinking on Covid-19 so that parents can feel safe that their children will be okay in school, with Dr Hilary pointing to the fatality rate statistic as proof.
