Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

The Finland international has been linked with a number of potential suitors over the summer but the Scottish Cup winners had been keen to hold on to the former Dundee man, signed for £50,000 under Steven Gerrard in 2019.
However, things appear to be moving quickly with the player’s agents reportedly in France trying to thrash out a deal. Losing the midfielder on deadline day would be less than ideal ahead of Rangers kicking off their Champions League group stage campaign next week, but the profit they would make on the deal should Nice be stumping up £10million may make it an offer too good to turn down.
The Light Blues had been linked with a move for English free agent Ross Barkley, but Sky Sports now report that no more new faces are expected to arrive.
