'Glass and debris' scattered across busy Scots road after man knocked down by car

A man has been rushed to hospital after being knocked down by a car on a busy Edinburgh.Emergency services were called to the scene on Corstorphine Road at around 3.20pm on Saturday, October 28.

An eyewitness told Edinburgh Live that debris and broken glass were left scattered across the carriageway.Police have confirmed that a man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

His condition is not currently known.One shocked passerby said: "There was glass and debris all over the road. About four or five police officers at least were there with several police cars and an ambulance too." A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.20pm on Saturday, October 28, police were called to a report of a road crash on Corstorphine Road, Edinburgh where a man was struck by a car."He was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh."The Scottish Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
