A six-year-old girl suffered "horrendous" injuries after being attacked by a pack of dangerous dogs. Her mum told a court she could have been killed after she found the youngster face down being mauled by the pocket bully type dogs outside her home, as she played with friends.
Prosecutors told how the girl was attacked on Sunday, March 26 outside her home in Carrington, Trafford, reports the MEN. Owner Bernard Valentine, 36, has been jailed after a court heard he kept the six dogs in 'woefully inadequate' conditions.
Minshull Street Crown Court heard that his dogs had attacked a man and his Dalmatian months earlier.Valentine left the area with the dogs meaning police were unable to seize the animals.
As he was sent down from the dock to start his prison sentence, Valentine said to his victim's parents, who were crying in court: 'I'm sorry'.Prosecutor Laura Barbour said the girl went outside to play with friends while her mother kept an eye on her while doing housework.
