Gigi Hadid is defending stylist and fashion journalist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson after she was the subject of online harassment by Kanye West.
It all started with Kanye‘s Yeezy season 9 fashion show on Monday (October 3), where he wore a White Lives Matter shirt. Gabriella took to her Instagram account to comment on the show.
If you don’t know, the Anti-Defamation League defines “White Lives Matter” as “a white supremacist phrase that originated in early 2015 as a racist response to the Black Lives Matter movement, which arose to protest against police brutality against African-Americans and garnered considerable publicity in 2014 for protests in Ferguson, Missouri, following the shooting death of Michael Brown at the hands of a Ferguson police officer.” “Here come the bullsh-t.
I’m fuming,” Gabriella wrote on her Instagram Story about the show. It appears she was in attendance at his show, adding it was, “Indefensible behavior.” On Tuesday morning (October 4), Kanye proceeded to post a photo of Gabriella and write, among many things, “You speak on Ye Ima speak on you Ask Trevor Noah.” He also posted a photo of her official Instagram page.
