Germany will SACK under-pressure boss Julian Nagelsmann before they play Scotland if they flop in their March friendlies, according to former Liverpool and Manchester City star Didi Hamann.Scotland will open Euro 2024 with a glamour game against the hosts in Munich in June, with Germany struggling after a run of just three wins in 11 games in 2023.
They will try and regroup in March with two friendlies against World Cup runners-up France in Lyon and the Netherlands at a yet-to-be-named venue.
But ex-Bayern Munich star Hamann, who won the Champions League with Liverpool and was capped 59 times for his country, reckons Steve Clarke might not face Nagelsmann in the dug-out if they flop badly in the friendlies.He said: "If the two games in March go wrong, then Julian Nagelsmann won't be a manager at the European Championships.
He can't afford to lose these games in March. No matter what he does, nothing works. He probably knows less about this team now than he did at the start of his time in charge four games ago.
