A German photographer is searching for some football-loving Scots he took snaps of 20 years ago as part of a university project.Toby Binder, from Stuttgart, studied in Edinburgh back in 2004 and documented the everyday lives of the young locals across several areas in the city.The 47-year-old has travelled across the world with his camera but has remained fascinated by residents who were happily kicking a football around deprived areas of the capital.Toby wanted to tell the stories of the Scottish residents and their passion for the sport and while living here discovered there was 'something different' in Scotland's love for Football, especially from the children, compared to what he saw growing up in Germany.While at university in Edinburgh, the then 27-year-old Toby came across groups of children in Craigmillar, Muirhouse, and Niddrie kicking a ball about in the streets.
He told Edinburgh Live : "I didn't really see that growing up. It was different from what it was like in Germany with the kids playing football in the streets.
I don't know if it's still like that now, I suppose kids now are all inside on their PlayStations. "To me, it showed that there was a chance for these kids.
These areas were poorer but when I spoke to the kids, they all had dreams of becoming professional footballers, and it was their chance to get out.
