George Russell blames tyre choice for poor start which led to horror British GP crash

Speaking before the restart, which Russell was not able to take, the Briton told Sky Sports: “Thankfully Zhou’s okay, an absolutely horrific incident.“Ultimately, we took a risk starting on the hards.
I made mistake in qualifying and we were starting out of position. We thought that risk gave us the best opportunity later in the race.“I had no grip whatsoever on the hardest compound.
