Generous Brits offer accommodation to NHS workers evicted amid coronavirus fears

As NHS workers grapple with the stress and exhaustion of treating increasing numbers of coronavirus patients - not to mention the risk to their own health - the last thing they need is to lose their home.

Sadly that's exactly what has happened to a number of doctors and nurses who have been evicted since the pandemic began, mostly by landlords who live in the same building as their tenants.

Dr Maria Tadros, a qualified NHS medic who works in a Shropshire hospital, was evicted last month by her landlady who was nervous about her bringing the virus home from work.

The 28-year-old was able to find a new room to move into, but said in a viral Facebook post she was feeling "pretty broken" about the sudden loss of her home.
