Gemma Atkinson has shared why she's really happy Gorka Marquez was given the boot from Strictly Come Dancing after he had to spend weeks away from their Greater Manchester home.
While they're no strangers to their work taking them in different directions over the years, the pair had to spend a chunk of time in different parts of the country as dancer Gorka competed in the BBC One dance contest with Morning Live star Dr Punam Krishan.
While they performed each weekend they were still in the dance contest at Elstree, the London-based studio, Gorka was also busy training alongside partner Dr Punam in Glasgow, where the practising GP is based and was juggling being on the show with her NHS work. READ MORE: BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans could face 'consequences' for dance-off action But following Strictly's Halloween special at the end last month, Gorka and Dr Punam were eliminated from the competition, meaning the former's time in Scotland came to an end and he was able to return to Greater Manchester to be back with his family.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News on the red carpt at the MTV EMAs 2024, which took place on Sunday (November 10) at Co-op Live, Gemma said of her beau's early exit from the hit dance show: "It's fabulous because he can do some school runs for once.
