Gas Company Reveals Findings After Investigation Following Gene Hackman & Betsy Arakawa's Deaths

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of Gene Hackman and wife Betsy Arakawa‘s death.

It was previously reported that there was no obvious gas leak, and the New Mexico Gas Company has now concluded their investigation into the late couple’s home. Keep reading to find out more… According to Variety, the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office shared on Tuesday (March 4) that that natural gas is “bot believed to be a factor” in the couple’s deaths, and the gas company’s report will be sent to the Office of the Medical Investigator.

The gas company did find a “miniscule” leak at one of the stove burners, which registered at 0.33% gas in the air, though that is not significant enough to be fatal.

They also found four more red tag code violations with a water heater and three gas log lighters in fireplaces, though none involved a leak or carbon monoxide. Gene and his wife were found dead in their home last week, along with one of their dogs.
