Gary Neville has leapt to the defence of former Manchester United team-mate David Beckham, who has been highly criticised in recent weeks.
The ex-England captain has been intensely scrutinised for accepting a £10million deal to be a paid ambassador for Qatar, ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
Beckham has already starred in television commercials promoting the Middle Eastern country ahead of the festival of football that begins on November 20.
United legend Eric Cantona recently blasted Beckham’s association with the country, whose restrictive laws on women’s rights, homosexuality, and migrant worker’s rights have regularly been condemned all over the world.
