A driver was clocked behind the wheel without a licence after trying to head the wrong way along Deansgate in a garish Mercedes-Benz.
Part of the bustling city centre street is now one-way for cars. But one wannabe motorist had not realised as they tried head in the wrong direction, according to Greater Manchester Police.
Officers stopped the bright pink Mercedes G-Class on nearby Quay Street. As they spoke to the person behind the wheel, officers realised the driver did not have a licence.
Police seized the eye-catching vehicle and reported the driver. "Pink Mercedes but no pink licence," a spokesperson for GMP City Centre wrote. "This vehicle was spotted by our D Relief Neighbourhood Officers trying to go down Deansgate the wrong way, the vehicle was stopped and the driver was unable to produce a valid licence.
