Banks all across the country have seen a growing trend in people choosing online banking over going into their local branch.
This has led to many of the nation's leading banks to shut down branches, leading to 76 bank closures in May alone. While the shifted focus to digital platforms helps to cater to a large portion of customers that prefer online banking, it runs the risk of isolating older and more vulnerable customers that lack access to the internet and find it easier to sort their finances face-to-face.
A recent survey conducted by Accenture revealed that one out of three individuals still prefer conducting their banking activities in person.
