Drivers may soon be able to use the A555 again as cars stuck on the Manchester Airport relief road for a week are being recovered.
A number of vehicles have been left stranded and frozen on the notorious link road, which straddles the border between Greater Manchester and Cheshire.
The road was forced to close due to severe flooding on New Year's Day, after downpours hit the area as 2025 began. Floodwater subsided as last week went on, with the road partially reopened.
But following periods of heavy snow and ice which began at the weekend, most of the road has remained out of action this week.
