Former Naval officer turned drinks maker Steph Buttery is on the cusp of becoming Gordon Ramsay’s new protégé. She’s been among those vying for investment from the restaurant mogul on the BBC show Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars.

And having reached the final - which airs on Thursday night - she could be in line to receive not only £150,000 of investment, but mentorship from the multi-Michelin star-winning chef turned businessman and TV star.

Steph is hoping her ‘sour soda’ drinks brand Chu Lo, inspired by her time serving in the Navy in the Far East, will be enough to clinch it.

She’ll be battling it out with baker Leah Harkness and Victoria Omobuwajo, who has a healthy snack business, for the top prize, and says she will use the investment to grow her team, based out of the Beehive Mill in Ancoats.
