Research from smart money platform, Credit Karma, found that Millennials and Gen-Zers are being targeted by fake online retailers, social media scams and bank impersonators, as scammers get more creative to target a younger market.
Misconceptions are creating complacency as nearly two-thirds (64%) of under-35s believe that they would recognise a scam if they saw one, but stereotypes of typical victims being “older and vulnerable” have seen increasing numbers of young people caught out.
