Fourth man arrested after two officers injured following attempted break in at industrial estate

A man has been arrested after two officers were left injured when they attended the scene of an attempted break in at a Manchester industrial unit.

Officers attended an address on Deansgate, Manchester city centre, on Monday, February 8 and arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of aggravated burglary, section 18 assault and wounding with intent to resist.

He remains in custody for questioning, police have confirmed. READ MORECop saved by his body armour as armed officers swoop on industrial park and take out machete gang The arrest is in relation to an incident at about 9.50pm last Wednesday, February 7, at the Riverpark Trading Estate, Briscoe Lane, Newton Heath.

Two officers were left injured after they were called to reports of a break-in at an industrial unit. Armed police swooped on Riverpark Industrial Estate, close to the Etihad stadium in east Manchester late on Wednesday night following reports men were breaking into one of the units with crowbars.
